It doesn't state anywhere on the record or the cover what speed it should be played at. I tried 45 and it sounded a bit Chipmunk. At 33 ⅓ RPM its sublime - raw afro-funk at its finest. Given the original recordings were put down in the 1970s Ivory Coast the production quality is pretty good. Some might describe the sound quality as a bit "woolly", I however would describe it as "faithfully capturing the rich warm sound of the era" I shall be singing "ziggy-la-bee-tay" (whatever that means) all the way to my local vintage clothing store to buy a pair of green spandex flares ... <3 <3 <3
